Shipping, Returns & Conditions
To keep costs as fair as possible, our pieces are made to order - with production starting after full payment is received.
For most accurate lead times, contact us at hello@ivor.co.nz. Lead times on our website are based on our best estimates at time of ordering, but are subject to change quickly due to international shipping times on materials, and increased demand on our manufacturers.
All care is taken in the manufacture and delivery of your pieces, but in the unlikely event of damage or a fault, please contact us immediately with supporting photos so we can work through the best remedy.
Workmanship and materials are guaranteed for 12 months from manufacture, on condition that all care instructions have been followed. If it appears that this is not the case, any claim will be considered void.
Shipping
We ship throughout New Zealand. Shipping costs depend on location and items ordered, please contact us for a quote.
Please ensure your address is correct when contacting us with an order. Additional fees apply for unsuccessful deliveries. You’ll be notified once your order is ready and dispatched.
Ivor Editions Customer Terms
These terms are effective from 3 July 2025
1. About us
1.1. Who we are
Kia ora, welcome to Ivor! Established in 2023, we are a New Zealand based provider of bespoke artisanal furniture, homewares, and unique vintage finds. Our website is https://www.ivor.co.nz.
If you have any questions about who we are, what we do, or these customer terms, please reach out to us through our contact webpage, or at hello@ivor.co.nz.
2. What these terms are about
2.1. When these terms apply
Unless agreed otherwise, these customer terms apply to any product that you purchase from us, Ivor Editions Limited, New Zealand company number 8761051.
By ordering any products from us, you agree to be bound by these terms, as amended from time to time. Please read these terms carefully. They form a legally binding contract between you and us.
Specifically, these terms will apply once we have agreed to your order, usually (but not always) by sending you an email or other notification that your order has been approved (called our “order confirmation”).
Every time you order a product from us, the latest version of these terms, as published on our website, will apply to the transaction.
We may choose not to agree to an order for any reason, including in the event of product shortages.
2.2. We may change these terms
We may change these terms from time to time, without requiring your agreement, and we are not required to notify you of any changes we make.
In most cases, the amended terms will only apply to your next product order. The amended terms will not apply to any ongoing orders, unless we consider that the amended terms must apply in order to comply with the law.
2.3. Other documents incorporated into these terms
These terms incorporate our privacy policy, available at https://www.ivor.co.nz/privacy-policy. These terms also incorporate any quote or scope of work that we agree with you.
3. Our products
3.1. Product descriptions
We endeavour to ensure that the descriptions of our products on our website are accurate and up-do-date. If you think that you have identified an error with a product description, you agree to contact us immediately at hello@ivor.co.nz so that we may attend to it.
4. Orders
4.1. Making an order If you wish to order a product that is displayed on our website, you should make an inquiry at first instance through our contact webpage.
Once you have contacted us about potentially purchasing a product, we will usually send you a scope of work and a quote.
5. Price and payment
5.1. Your payment obligations
Once we have confirmed your order, you will need to make payment. You agree to pay the price of the product that we quote to you, along with GST and shipping and handling costs, within 7 days of receiving our invoice.
Unless we agree otherwise, you must pay for the product in full before we arrange for the product to be sent to you. We may hold the product until your payment has been received in full, cleared funds.
If we hold your product, and if we request it, you must pay us our reasonable storage costs.
5.2. Methods of payment
We accept payment via bank transfer. We may also choose to offer other methods of payment, including payment via credit or debit card.
5.3. Quotes
The prices listed on our website, and in any quotes that we provide you, are indicative only. We may change our quoted prices at any time prior to us entering into a contract with you by sending you an order confirmation.
5.4. GST
Prices we quote to you are in New Zealand dollars and are exclusive of GST, unless expressly stated otherwise.
Please note that the prices listed on our website are in New Zealand dollars and are inclusive of GST.
5.5. Delivery costs
All product prices are exclusive of shipping and handling costs. You agree to pay us shipping and handling costs in addition to the product price.
6. Delivery
6.1. Delivery
All delivery and lead-in times are indicative only. While we endeavour to have our products delivered in accordance with these indicative timeframes, we cannot guarantee that they will be met.
You are responsible for ensuring the delivery address that you provide us is correct.
You agree that we are not responsible for any damaged or stolen products that are left unattended at your nominated delivery address.
6.2. Risk and title
Risk in the products that you order lies with us until the products are packaged and shipped to you. We are not responsible for damage caused during shipping.
We retain title to all products until you have paid for the relevant product in full.
7. Cancellation and refunds
7.1. Cancellation by us
We may cancel an order if the product is not available for any reason, including shortages of materials. We will inform you if this is the case and return any payment that you have made.
7.2. Cancellation by you
If you wish to cancel your order, please contact us.
Please note that, once an order has been processed (i.e. shipped to you) it cannot be cancelled.
We do not need to cancel your order, if the cancellation is made due to you changing your mind.
Where the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 applies, you may have additional rights to cancel your contract with us. Nothing in these terms are intended to override any consumer rights that are unable to be contracted out of.
7.3. Refunds
Refunds are usually processed within 2-4 business days. Timeframes are subject to the relevant financial institution who is involved in the refund process.
8. Returns
8.1. Returns
Given the bespoke nature of the products we offer on our website, we cannot accept returns or exchange products if you change your mind.
We may be required by law to accept product returns (including under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, which gives consumers rights to have certain goods replaced in specific circumstances). We recommend that you read and familiarise yourself with your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
8.2. If a product is defective or damaged, please contact us immediately upon receipt and we will work with you to arrange for a replacement product or refund as applicable.
9. Limitation of Liability
9.1. Our liability to you
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
· Our liability to you in connection with these terms and with your order is limited to the total of any amounts you have actually paid to us in connection with a product.
· We will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss or damage, nor any special loss or damage, loss of profits, loss of data, loss of savings and loss of opportunity.
Certain laws in New Zealand contain non-excludable guarantees, warranties, or other rights.
For example, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 permits consumers to recover reasonably foreseeable damages in certain circumstances. Nothing in these terms affect any non-excludable rights you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act, or under other applicable laws.
9.2. Warranties
We expressly exclude all other express or implied warranties, representations, and guarantees in relation to any product that you order, including the implied warranties as to fitness for purpose.
However, this clause does not apply to any guarantees, warranties, or rights that cannot be excluded by law, including under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
9.3. You may be required to indemnify us
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any expenses, costs, liabilities, losses, or damages (“covered costs”) that we suffer or incur (or are likely to incur) in relation to any claim brought against us by a third party, where such claim is fully or partly attributable to your breach of these terms.
However, you are not required to indemnify us to the extent that the relevant covered costs were caused or contributed by our negligence, breach of these terms, or breach of law.
10. General
10.1. Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986
If you are in trade, and are acquiring our products or services in trade, then:
· You agree that the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act will not apply to our agreement with you.
· You agree that:
- these terms, our quote and scope of work, and our privacy policy are the entire agreement between you and us.
- in contracting with us, you have not relied on any representations or conduct of ours separate to those set out in writing in our agreement with you.
- to give effect to these points, you agree to contract out of sections 9, 12A, and 13 of the Fair Trading Act 1986.
You agree that it is fair and reasonable to be bound to this clause. This clause only applies to the extent permitted by law.
10.2. Assignment and novation
You agree that you will not assign or transfer any rights or obligations under these terms without our prior written consent.
We may deal with our rights and obligations under these terms in any way we see fit. In particular, we may assign, transfer or novate any or all
of our rights and obligations under these terms, and you will (at our cost) take all action and sign all documents necessary to effect such assignments, transfers, or novations.
10.3. Waiver
If we refrain from enforcing any clause of these terms, or give you more time or leeway to comply, this does not mean we have waived our rights to enforce that clause, or any other clause, of these terms.
10.4. Severability
If it transpires that a clause of these terms is unenforceable or invalid, then you agree that clause is replaced with a clause that, as far as possible, achieves the original purpose of the first clause.
10.5. Other legislation
The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply to these terms nor to your order.
10.6. Notices
A party may give notices in writing by electronic mail at the email address notified by the other party.
10.7. Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of New Zealand Courts.
10.8. Interpretation
You agree that a reference to a statute in these terms is a reference to that statute as amended from time to time, and includes any replacement or successor statute.
FAQs
i can no longer see an item on your website, is it still available?
Due to the nature of our small-run ethos, items will over time be archived to make way for new collections. In some cases the designs may still be available if we still have access to the original templates and plans. Please contact us to enquire as this will be determined on a case by case basis.
i like the style, but can i have it in a different colour, fabric or finish?
Because we make to order, there is some flexibility in the colour/finishes of a number of items. Fabric colours can be changed but the fabric style is set as per the original listing. Timber finishes will be re-priced depending on the finish required. Any changes (to fabric or timber) will be subject to a higher cost/additional fee to cover ordering of new material. Unfortunately we cannot alter the sizing of any piece as proportions and structure have been carefully determined through our prototype process.
i am a local, can i collect from you directly?
Unfortunately we don’t offer a pick-up service as our pieces are made by a range of makers across the country, and in most instances will be delivered to you directly from there.
i am a clever maker/manufacturer/artisan, can we collaborate?
Drop us a line to show us your wares! We have lots of ideas stored for future product releases, if we think you might be a good fit for a particular range we would love to chat further about working together! At the very least, we love to know who’s out there in the designer/maker/crafter world for specification purposes in our interior’s business.
do you offer holds or buy now, pay later?
At this point in time we do not offer buy now, pay later - but may consider it in the future. We are happy to hold items for 24 hours if a stocked piece, please contact us to confirm if this is an option.
Can i return an item if i’ve changed my mind?
All Ivor designed items are made to order, especially for you! Therefore we cannot accept returns for change of mind. We endeavor to provide as much information on each listing as possible to ensure you know exactly what you’re receiving, including dimensions so you can check your space accordingly.
